President and First Lady host official luncheon in honour of visiting Prime Minister and First Lady of Malaysia
President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim have hosted an official luncheon in honour of the visiting Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak and First Lady Datin Paduka Rosmah Mansor. The luncheon was held this afternoon at Dharubaaruge.
The Prime Minister and First Lady of Malaysia are on an official visit to the Maldives, at the invitation of President Yameen and First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim.
Vice President Abdulla Jihad, Speaker of the Parliament Hon. Abdulla Maseeh Mohamed, Chief Justice Uz. Abdulla Saeed, Cabinet Ministers, and members of the Parliament also attended the function.
Members of the Malaysian Delegation accompanying the Malaysian Prime Minister also attended the function.
During the visit, President Yameen met with Prime Minister Najib of Malaysia, and discussed matters of mutual concern. Official talks were also held between the Maldives and Malaysia, where deliberations were mainly focused on strengthening cooperation between the two countries in different areas.
During this official visit, four key agreements were signed between the Maldives and Malaysia in areas including education, health, culture and civil defence, aimed at further enhancing the existing relations between both countries.
