President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has in separate messages, conveyed felicitations of the 47th “Eid al-Watani” National Day of the United Arab Emirates to the President of the United Arab Emirates His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
In his message to His Highness, the President of UAE, His Excellency, President Solih reflected on over four decades of formal diplomatic ties that exist between the Maldives and the UAE. The President expressed hope to maintain and further cultivate the fruitful development partnership between the two brotherly countries, that has been based on mutual trust, understanding and good will. He also stated that the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development has over the past years contributed generously towards the socio-economic development of the Maldives, for which the Government and the people of the Maldives remain deeply appreciative.
On a similar note, to His Highness the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, the President stated that the government of Maldives highly values the long-standing relations rooted in common adherence to Islam, shared values and mutual trust between both countries and conveyed his keen interest to establish a sound working relationship with the Government of the UAE to expand the present scopes of economic, commercial, social and cultural cooperation.
In his message to the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE’s Armed Forces, the President expressed confidence that through concerted efforts between the two countries, the existing brotherly relations will further strengthen.
The National Day of UAE commemorates the federal unification of the seven emirates to form the modern-day nation.
